A stuffed carrot may be a more practical choice, however. Cut a carrot outline out of two pieces of fabric or felt, glue or sew the edges, and stuff with cotton, fiberfill, or batting. Add lines for the carrot's "wrinkles" with a black marker or fabric paint.
